Jaipur: Believe it or not, a goods train in Rajasthan's Dausa ran unmanned for 4 km on Sunday night leading to an inquiry for action against officials on duty.
The incident took place at Bhan Kari railway station, two stations ahead of the Bandikui Junction which falls in the North Western Railway zone of the Indian Railways.
As per the reports, railway officials chased the train by bike before bringing it to a standstill situation.
The incident took place when the slat-laden train, bound for Delhi, was stationed at Bhan Kari station. It started rolling without its staff for nearly 4 km.
Officials said that the duty time of loco pilot Braj Bihari, assistant pilot Nanakchand and guard RK Sharma ended at the Bhan Kari railway station. Following this, the trio handedover the train to the staff at the station and left for their own way.
Virendra Kumar, DRM, North Western Railway said that four persons were suspended immediately and a committee has been formed to probe the matter as how this happened.
