Hyderabad: The Group of Ministers (GoM) last night cleared the draft bill for the creation of a state of Telangana.
The Union Cabinet will consider the GoM's report today.
According to the reports it is believed that the GoM has recommended that the Rayalaseema districts of Anantapur and Kurnool be added to the new state of Telangana though GoM has not shared any reports officially on the issue.
If Cabinet will also approve the GoM recommendation the matter will be sent to the President, who is expected to give the state 10 to 30 days to pass the resolution in the state assembly.
According to the reports the new state will have 21 Lok Sabha constituencies and 147 assembly seats, the same as the residual state of Andhra Pradesh.
