Gandhinagar: The chief of engineering and construction giant L&T yesterday advised students to come back to the country after studying abroad as there are ample professional opportunities available for them here.
“Go and study abroad but do come back. There are many opportunities in this country. You will have careers and dreams to pursue here.
You must remember your alma mater and also that you have a debt to pay to this country,” L&T Chief Executive and MD Krishnamurthy Venkataramanan said.
He was speaking as chief guest at the 3rd convocation ceremony of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagaer.
Degrees were awarded to 123 students of B Tech, 36 of M Tech and two of PhD. In addition, 40 medals and awards for excellence in academic, sports, leadership and community service were presented to graduating students.
On the occasion, IIT Gandhinagar Director Sudhir K Jain shared the six-year-old institute's achievements.
“With the current trajectory, continued engagement, ownership and participation of our stakeholders, we are confident that in not-too-distant future, the country and the world will start to acknowledge IIT Gandhinagar as one of the leading universities in India and among the best in the world,” Jain said.
