New Delhi, May 10: In a bid to reach out to young Indians, the German embassy here Friday launched a new interactive programme on its website, which it said it was designed specially for school students.

"Kids Corner" talks about Germany, the links between Germany and India, foreign politics, educational opportunities and many other things.

According to embassy officials, for the first time, an embassy in India has set up an entire interactive segment for children and students on its website.

"Germany and India are partners since ages. However, we still don't know enough about each other. In today's globalised world, we need to close this knowledge gap," said German Ambassador to India Michael Steiner, after launching the section.

"We want to reach out especially to the young people in Germany and India. The Kids' Corner virtually brings Germany to your mind - in the language of the young, with texts for the young and topics of the young," he said.

It has been designed by the German Embassy together with Max Mueller Bhavan. The illustrations have been done by Priya Kuriyan, a Delhi-based artist and designer.
