Hyderabad: The immersion of Ganesh idols, marking the conclusion of Ganesh Chaturthi festivities in Hyderabad, came to an end today.
The end was marked by immersion of the giant Lord Ganesh idol installed at Khairtabad in the Hussan Sagar Lake.
The immersion of more than 20,000 idols in different sizes began yesterday, but it continued till this afternoon as the processions moved slowly along with devotees coming in large numbers.
The 60 feet tall idol erected at the famous Khairtabad Pandal began its journey today and it was immersed this evening with elaborate arrangements like special cranes put in place for the purpose.
