Nagpur, Dec 2 : BJP president Nitin Gadkari has spent a whopping Rs 20 crore on his son's wedding on Thursday (Nov 2). Of this, Rs one crore was spent on invitation cards alone, says a media report.
Gadkari's son Nikhil looks after his father's Poorti Group which has a Rs 600 crore turnover, while wife Rituja Pathak is a hotel management graduate.
BJP in-charges of all 136 wards in Nagpur have been asked to distribute at least 1,000 invitation cards in each ward.
Nearly 1.36 lakh invitation cards have been sent to people in Nagpur alone. Remaining 76,000 cards were sent to invitees in cities other than Nagpur.
As the state assembly will be in session in Nagpur, almost all the ministers in Maharashtra are expected to attend the wedding. Prominent industrialists and Bollywood stars have also been sent invites.
