New Delhi: Frank Noronha, a veteran Information Service official, was today appointed as Principal Director General of Media and Communication to the government of India.
A 1982-batch officer of the Indian Information Service, Noronha swaps place with Neelam Kapoor, who has been made the DG Field Publicity.
Noronha, who has taken over the new top official spokesman of the government, has worked as Information Officer in various ministries and has served as Deputy Press Secretary in the Rashtrapati Bhavan during his long tenure.
In another change, S M Khan, Director General (News) in Doordarshan, has been placed under “compulsory wait”, sources said.
Archana Dutta, Director General (News) in All India Radio, has been given additional charge of DD (News) Doordarshan, the sources said.
