This key was illuminated with fireworks. The length of devotees stretched to more than a kilometre on the Bada Danda (the main road outside Jagannath temple), as their entry and exit were regulated by police.
Lord Jagannath was decorated with gold ornaments studded with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and other precious stones.
