Chennai : The four-day technical festival of IIT-Madras “Shaastra” will kick-off here on January 4, and will see the participation of some big names from the industry.
A completely student-run initiative, “Shaastra 2014,” will also witness product launches from students aimed at addressing daily challenges, an official release said.
Students will fight it out in a series of challenging contests including aeromodelling, computer programming and robotics among others, it said.
As part of the Shaastra Lecture series, noted names like Michael Meyer, lead scientist of NASA's Curiosity Mars Rover Project and Bikash Sinha, Scientific Adviser to Prime Minister among others will share insights with students, it said, adding, prizes worth over Rs 24 lakh were up for grab.
