New Delhi: A former employee of a Delhi University college who had set herself ablaze over alleged sexual harassment by principal, died here Monday.
"Pavitra Bhardwaj died at the LNJP (Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Narayan) Hospital this (Monday) morning," a police officer said.
Bhardwaj, 40, had immolated herself outside Delhi Secretariat in central Delhi Sep 30.
She had suffered 90 percent burns.
Bhardwaj was sacked from the college in 2009.
Bhardwaj was posted as a lab attendant at Bhim Rao Ambedkar College in east Delhi.
She was apparently sacked from the college in 2009 after she raised her voice against the college principal, she had then claimed.
Around 2pm, she arrived at the secretariat demanding action against the college principal.
She then set herself on fire. Passersby and security personnel rushed to her rescue and took her to hospital.
