Chandigarh, Oct 17: Fiza Mohammad, the estranged wife of former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan, was arrested today for alleged breach of peace but later released on bail.
Fiza aka Anuradha Bali was arrested under different sections of the IPC following a complaint by her neighbour but was released on bail after a Mohali court's order, a senior police officer said.
'We arrested Fiza on the basis of the complaint of her neighbour Ram Krishen, who lives at the back of her house in Mohali," Mohali's Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajwinder Singh Sohal said.
Arrested under different Sections of the IPC, Fiza was produced in Mohali SDM's court which ordered her release on bail, he said.
Her neighbour Krishen told reporters that he had been complaining to the police for the last six months against Fiza, but police had paid no heed.
He alleged that Fiza used foul language against him, threw eggs inside his house and hurled stones at his car.
However, Fiza has trashed the allegations, saying that Krishen had been keeping a tab on her by installing cameras near her house.
Chander Mohan, the elder son of former Haryana chief Minister Bhajan Lal, and Fiza, a former Additional Advocate General of Haryana, had suddenly disappeared in November 2008 and re-appeared after 40 days as a married couple, with new names after embracing Islam.
The Bhupinder Singh Hooda government had later sacked Chander Mohan for disappearing telling anyone knowing his whereabouts.
