Moga, Jun 27: At least five persons were injured when a clash broke out between two groups at Rania village of the district in the run up to the panchayat polls in Punjab, police said here today.




The clash took place between supporters of former SAD MLA Tota Singh and Rajwinder Kaur, a sitting legislator of Congress late last night, they said.

All the injured have been hospitalised and their condition is stated to be stable, police said.

The clash took place when supporters of the political stalwarts of the area were seeking votes for their respective sarpanch candidates.

A case has been registered, police said, adding no arrests have been made so far in this connection.
