New Delhi: A high-level delegation of Pakistani Rangers will arrive here today to hold the talks with Border Security Force (BSF) on key issues including ceasefire violations and cross-border infiltration.

Devendra Kumar Pathak, Director General of BSF will be heading a high-level delegation during the talks when he sits across the table with his counterpart from Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) Maj Gen Umar Farooq Burki.

Various other issues, including infiltration, intrusion in Rann of Kutch in Gujarat will figure during the discussions.

"The talks will also endeavour to focus on positive issues like different levels of communication, more simultaneous coordinated patrolling and other confidence building measures," the BSF said in a statement.

The five-day long talks between Indo-Pak border forces come after more than one-and-a-half-year. The last round was held in Lahore in December 2013.

Last month, Pakistan had cancelled the NSA-level talks with after India objected its move to invite Kashmiri separatists for consultations on the issue.

The talks between Indo-Pak border forces are seen as a signal of revival of Ufa agreement reached between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.
