Ambala, Haryana, May 7 : A major fire gutted the Parijat chemical factory near Mandaur village adjoining Ambala on Monday night.
More than 12 fire engines were sent to douse the blaze.
The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained. Eyewitnesses said, some suddenly emanated from inside the factory and a blaze soon erupted thereafter
Huge drums of chemicals exploded during the fire and fell on houses in the neighbourhood. One fireman was admitted to Ambala Civil Hospital.
Local villagers alleged that the fire brigade and ambulance came long after the blaze had erupted. They also alleged that there was a fire in the factory earlier too, which continued for three days.
