Ghaziabad, Jul 8 : Basanti, a female elephant, on Thursday, fled from Farooq Nagar village after breaking her shackles, and went on a rampage in and around Ghaziabad, giving police and wildlife department a tough time.
The female elephant damaged vehicles and properties in Muradnagar, Loni and Sahibabad.
After a ten-hour-long effort, the wildlife staff managed to render her unconscious.
