Jalgaon (Maharashtra): A debt-ridden farmer in Muktai Nagar near Parambi hanged himself from a tree on Tuesday morning.
Police said, the farmer Santosh Gawhal was depressed after his crops were fully damaged because of the drought.
The village falls within the constituency of Agriculture Minister Eknath Khadse.
So far, nine debt-ridden farmers in Jalgaon district alone have committed suicide.
