New Delhi: Former President A P J Abdul Kalam was among the few Indian personalities in contemporary India who won the admiration of one and all cutting across every section of society.
Known as the father of Indian Missile Technology, Kalam gained nationwide acclaim for his prominent role in India's 1998 nuclear weapons tests.
He was born on October 15, 1931.,He was elected as India's 11th President in 2002.
During his term as President, he was popularly known as the People's President. Success followed Dr Kalam. Prithvi, Agni, Akash, Trishul and Nag missiles were huge successes.
