Dharamshala, HP, Jun 5 : The 24th anniversary of Tiananmen democracy movement, the bloody attack on student demonstrators in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, was observed on Tuesday with Tibetans in-exile here screening a documentary film based on the massacre.
Royal Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC) and Students for a Free Tibet (SFT) screened the docu-film ‘China Triumph and turmoil' by Niall Ferguson.
Buddhist monks along with some other Tibetans and foreigners gathered in the evening at TCV Day School to watch the film.
Tibetans are commemorating the 24th anniversary of Tiananmen Square. In 1989, nearly one million people came together at Tiananmen square in Beijing demanding democracy and freedom, They were brutally suppressed with the help of tanks by Chinese People's Liberation Army. The exiled Tibetans have since then been expressing solidarity with the victims of Tiananmen Square massacre.
