Evidences That Were Given In Ayodhya Title Suit

Several hundred years old gazettes, ancient books, epics, videos and old correspondences were produced before the Allahabad High Court during hearings on the Ayodhya disputed site title suit. The parties to the dispute  brought forth

Several hundred years old gazettes, ancient books, epics, videos and old correspondences were produced before the Allahabad High Court during hearings on the Ayodhya disputed site title suit.




The parties to the dispute  brought forth 94 witnesses and 525 documents before the court. The evidences included copies of 150 year old judgments, govt gazettes, revenue records, photographs, maps, affidavits, historical books and correspondence. Photographs and videos of artifacts found during ASI excavations were also produced. 



Total witnesses produced : 82 (54 from Hindus side and 28 from Muslims side)



Hindu side witnesses' testimonies ran into 1209 pages, and Muslim side witnesses' testimonies ran into 2311 pages.

18.          Kenopanishad

19.          Gazetteers

20.      Some other ancient books

Other documents produced included copy of the court verdict dated June 18, 1883 in the case Sayed Mohd Asghar v Raghubar Das, affidavit of Thanedar of Oudh Sheetala Dubey Nov 28, 1858, the then Oudh Commissioner Major General Reid's appeal dated August 7, 1868 in the case Niyamat Ali Shah v Gangadhar Shastri.



Artefacts evidence produced:

Archaelogical Survey of India carried out excavations from March 12, 2003 till August, 2003. ASI report of August 7, 2003 was also produced citing ancient artifacts found from excavations at the disputed site. Also, a GPRS survey conducted by High Court on February 17, 2003 was also produced.
