New Delhi: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 21-year-old youth who lived in her neighbourhood in South East Delhi.
The child was playing outside her house day before yesterday when her neighbour, Mohsid, lured her to his rented accommodation in Jaitpur area and sexually assaulted her, police said yesterday.
When the girl cried for help, her mother and other locals rushed to Mohsid's room and found the girl crying.
She was taken to a nearby hospital from where she was discharged after treatment, police said.
After the medical examination of the girl confirmed rape, a case was registered and Mohsid, who works as a labourer in the area was arrested.
