Earthquake: Mild tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and parts of north India on Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, the magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck in Nepal at around 13:30:23 hours on Wednesday. The depth of the quake was 10 km.
Meanwhile in another development, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and the National Centre for Seismology, New Delhi said they have not recorded any earthquake after reports of mild tremors at Royapettah in Chennai surfaced on Wednesday.
Scientists said that some ongoing civil activities could have led to minor tremors in isolated pockets.
However, the Chennai Metro Rail Ltd has clarified that it is not conducting any work at the Anna Salai area at present.
