Rajgir (Bihar): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today exhorted people not to marry off their daughters in families which do not have toilets in their houses.
Speaking at a function here, Nitish said absence of toilets particularly affect women who suffer 90 per cent of their ailments because of attending to the nature's call in the open.
Toilets in homes will not only mitigate health problems of the fair gender, but also ensure their dignity, he said.
Nitish said the government had been providing Rs 10,000 assistance to APL and BPL families for construction of toilets to meet over 90 per cent of the expenditure for the purpose.
