New Delhi: Delhi Metro today offered free rides to those who took the service to attend the Independence Day function at Red Fort.
The Metro service started as early as 4:30 A.M. and complimentary travel coupons were issued at all its stations for those headed to the historic Red Fort to attend the Independence Day celebrations.
“Complimentary coupons were made available for those getting down at the Kashmere Gate and Chandni Chowk Metro stations to attend the Independence Day celebrations at Red Fort from 4:30 A.M. to 8 A.M. from all stations, except the airport line,” said a DMRC spokesperson. Entry and exit was allowed as usual at all stations and no restrictions were imposed.
Delhi Transport Corporation also provided free bus service to all commuters from early in the morning till 10 rpt 10 P.M.
