Gurgaon: In the wake of several recent cases of crime involving domestic helps and tenants in the area, Gurgaon District Magistrate yesterday invoked Section 144 with a view to ensuring their verification by police.
DM Shekhar Vidyarthi directed residents here to provide within 10 days the local and permanent addresses of their tenants and domestic helps at their respective police stations along with attested photos and photo identity cards. The order has been brought in with immediate effect and violators would be punished under Section 188 of IPC, sources said.
The order also directed Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and Controllers of Housing Societies to install CCTV cameras at the entry and exit points of the various colonies.
