Chennai : A depression over Bay of Bengal would intensify into a deep depression and bring heavy rains under its influence as it crosses the Tamil Nadu coast between Nagapattinam and Chennai by November 15, the regional weather office said yesterday.
The depression, which formed over southwest and adjoining South east Bay of Bengal yesterday around 5.30 am, moved westwards and lay centered at 8.30 AM about 650 km east-Southeast of Chennai and 680 km east-northeast of Nagapattinam, it said.
The system would move westwards for some more time and then west-northwestwards, intensify into a deep depression and cross north Tamil Nadu coast between Nagapattinam and Chennai by the night of November 15 or Nov 16 morning, it said.
