New Delhi: Delhi and the NCR may not witness a major spell of dense fog until December 24, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today said.
There may, however, be fresh fog formations in morning hours on December 20 and 22.
"A major spell of dense fog may not take place until December 24 or Christmas. However, there will be some fresh fog formation on December 20 and 22," Rajendra Kumar Jenamani, director in-charge of IGI Meteorological Department, said.

December to February witness dense fog formation in Delhi and across north India, which not only affects vehicular but also rail and air traffic.
Jenamani said several factors are responsible for dense fog formations. "December 2008 and 2009 did not witness dense fog, but it was witnessed in December 2010," he said.
