Dense fog enveloped New Delhi on Sunday delaying flights and trains, even as the rest of the northern region reeled under intense cold wave.
The fog started forming around midnight and became dense in the morning, especially in the capital, disrupting flight schedules once again.
With the visibility on the domestic and international runways falling to 100 to 150 meters, around 10 domestic and four international flights were delayed.
Dense fog in the capital hit rail traffic as well. While 42 trains were delayed, 9 were cancelled.

The rest of the northern region too continued to reel under the intense cold wave, with the mercury dipping much below the normal at several places in eastern and northern India, especially in Patna in Bihar.
These harsh weather conditions have claimed over 400 lives in northern India as the cold wave intensified its grip.
