New Delhi: Delhi's new Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is all set to shift to his new residence. Kejriwal's new residence is at 7/6 and 7/7 Bhagwan Dass Road.
It has two big adjacent duplex flats. Each of the two duplex flats has five bedrooms and a lawn and put together, will have at least 6,000 sq feet built-up area and 9,000 sq ft ground coverage though it is not as grand as Delhi's former CM Sheila Dixit's home.
The allotment of the duplex home took place on Wednesday after a request came from Delhi government. Kejriwal's family has already visited the site to examine the houses.
Kejriwal had promised that he will not move into the CM's bungalow and instead would prefer to live in his present flat only in Kaushambi, but Delhi government officials pointed out that apart from logistics of travelling to and fro daily to Ghaziabad, it was advisable for Kejriwal to shift to a flat in Delhi itself.
The keys of these two houses in the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) officers' colony have been handed over to Delhi government for “cleaning work” so that Kejriwal can shift soon.
One of the flat will house the Aam Aadmi Party office, and the adjoining flat will be used as residence.
