New Dehi: The flying squads of Election Commission and Income Tax had seized Rs 27 crore of unaccounted cash during Delhi polls of 2013 from political workers of different parties.


According to Election commission rules, Rs 16 lakh expenditure cap had been put on each candidate on campaigning and the seized amount of Rs 27 crore was capable of funding more than 150 candidates in Delhi.

A total of Rs 200 crores has been seized in the past three years, from poll-bound states and  the largest seizures were made from Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi.
