New Delhi, Aug 5: Acting on the basis of a suicide note by a former MDLR air hostess Geetika Sharma, Delhi Police today registered an FIR for abetment to suicide against Haryana's minister of state for Home Gopal Kanda.
Geetika's body was found this morning in her Ashok Vihar residence in north-west Delhi.
Police have registered a case against minister Gopal Kanda, the owner of the now-defunct airline and his Aruna Chadha for abetment to suicide.
Geetika Sharma committed suicide at her Ashok Vihar residence on Saturday night as she was under depression as Gopal Kanda, the minister, was understood to have been pressurising her to rejoin work, police said.
Gaurav Sharma, Geetika's cousin, alleged that she was being pressurised by the minister Gopal Kanda to rejoin work and threatened that she would not be allowed work anywhere else.
Geetika, who joined MDLR airlines as a flight attendant one and a half years back, quickly rose to become a director in the company.Police have seized her cellphone in connection with the probe.
Geetika's body has been sent to the government-run Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital here for post-mortem.
Geetika's family alleged that Gopal Kanda used to visit their house frequently.
Geetika started working as an air hostess with MDLR airlines nearly four years ago and then became the director of its subsidiary 'Supersonic'.
She later quit the company eight months ago to pursue MBA education at IILM.
Geetika's family alleged that the minister Gopal Kanda used to frequently ring her up and intimidate her to rejoining her job and threatened that he would not allow her to work in any other company.
Geetika's family also alleged that they had filed a complaint with the police earlier too, but no action was taken because of Kanda's political connections. Geetika's suicide note that was found by the police reads as follows:
Suicide Note
"I'm ending myself today because Im shattered inside. My trust has been broken and I'm being cheated. Two people responsible for my death is ARUNA CHADHA and GOPAL GOYAL KANDA. Both of them have broken my trust and misused me for their own benefits. They have ruined my life and now they are trying to sabotage my family members. My family is very innocent. Aruna and Gopal Goyal are liars, cheaters and crook. They can hurt and ruin anyone for their own purpose. I've forgiven them number of times, but it was my biggest mistake. Gopal Goyal before also did hurt me and my family but we still forgave him but he again misused our innocence and trust. he is a cheat, and a fraud man. These two should be punished for their wrong deed ad malicious intentions towards me and my family. They have made my life abnormal. I love my Mom, dad and my bhai.

In another note, written by Geetika three months ago, she wrote:
"Gopal Goyal is a fraud. He always keep his bad intentions towards girls. He is a man of no shame and no guilt. He always takes advantage of others. He has illegal relationship with a woman named (name withheld) and a girl child also with her. Still he keep on hitting on girls. he is a shameless and worst man I have ever seen in my life. In the name of relationship, trust God he cheats people and harasses. He always lies. He lies to his family, kids, people around, everyone.
Now this time Aruna is also helping him to hurt me, harass me, sabotage my family. She use to act as my wellwisher but eventually she has shown her true colors. For the sake of her job she can stoop down to any level.
My biggest mistake was I trusted them, which is now costing my life. I will never ever forgive them. They are the one who have separated me today from my mom, dad and bai. I hate dem, these two.

Geetika's cousine Gaurav Sharma told mediapersons today that Gopal Kanda used to sexually harass her inside his office frequently. "Geetika had told her mother about this. After she left her job, Kanda came with his wife to Geetika's home to persuade her to rejoin the company. Geetika also used to travel with Kanda on foreign trips", he added.
Geetika, he said, joined Emirates Air for a brief period in Dubai, but Kanda sent objectionable mails to the airlines' administration and got her fired from Emirates Air.
Gopal Kanda, sone of late Murlidhar Kanda, is an under-matriculate. He is the chairman of MDLR group, runs the MDK International School in Sirsa, and is building a multi-speciality hospital there. He also runs a charitable Ayurvedic and eye Hospital in Sirsa, and was made the minister of state for Home by Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Kanda's wife is Saraswati Devi and they have a son and two daughters. He has two brothers, one of whom Govind Kanda is active in local politics in Sirsa, while the other Mahan Kanda is a local trader.
The opposition Indian National Lok Dal chief Om Prakash Chautala today demanded Gopal Kanda's dismissal from the state government and a thorough probe into the suicide case. Chautala described the incident as "very unfortunate".
Local INLD activists in Sirsa and Gurgaon staged protests and burnt effigies of Gopal Kanda today.
