New Delhi: The national capital witnessed another rain-filled day today as the city recorded showers measuring 13.3mm which kept mercury below normal levels. According to the MeT department, the maximum temperature today was recorded at 32.5 degrees Celsius, which was two notches below normal.
The minimum in Delhi was at 25 degrees, one notch below normal.
As moderate rainfall hit the city at around 10 A.M., during the morning rush hour, traffic in several areas was thrown out of gear.
Water-logging led to traffic snarls along thoroughfares running from Dhaula Kuwan towards Raja Garden, under Chattarail, in front of Naraina Post Office, Vulvard Road near ISBT, both carriageways near Kashmiri Gate metro station, Kela Ghat, Hamdard T-Point to Devli Mod MB Road, Adhchini and Mayapuri Chowk, said Delhi Traffic Police. The rainfall pushed humidity levels upwards, oscillating between 75 and 93 per cent.
The MeT office has predicted similar conditions tomorrow with generally cloudy skies and the possibility of rain and thundershowers in various parts of the city. The maximum and minimum are likely to remain at 33 and 25 degrees, respectively.
The day temperature yesterday had settled a notch below normal at 33.2 degrees while the minimum was recorded at 26 degrees, normal for this time of the year.
