New Delhi, Nov 3: The body of Dr Teena Dutta Gogna was found in her builder husband's house in posh Greater Kailash on Wednesday. Police have arrested her husband Vivek Gogna on charge of dowry death.
Teena's in-laws claimed that she had committed suicide by hanging with her dupatta.
Teena, a qualified dentist, killed herself after having a fight with her husband Vivek. After the fight, Vivek went to talk to her early afternoon and found the door locked. When She didn't open it, he broke the door to find her hanging from the ceiling fan, police said.
Teena Gogna hailed from Ghaziabad. She was married Vivek, son of an NDMC contractor. Vivek used to do business in New Zealand and of late he dealt in hair and beauty products.
Police said, Teena's in-laws have been saying that she had been depressed for several months and took anti-depressants prescribed to her.
Teena was married to her husband eight months ago at a farmhouse wedding, where her family splurged more than Rs 50 lakhs on the wedding and gave away two cars as dowry, says Anju Dutta, Teena's aunt.
Teena's family alleges that her in-laws began to harass her soon after the wedding. The lady dentist was literally forced to domestic jobs at the in-laws house.
Police found signs of three injuries on her neck. Teena's parents had talked to her till 11 am on Wednesday. Her family had promised to visit her, but by the time they reached GK, they found their daughter dead.
Teena's in-laws told the family that she had committed suicide by hanging. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
