New Delhi: Foreigners in mini skirts and short clothes entering Jama Masjid provoked Indian Mujahidin to attack the historical mosque here.
Special cell of Delhi police said the accused considered wearing of short clothes by foreigners as ‘un-Islamic' and decided to strike at gate number three of Jama Masjid.
Recee was carried out by Yasin and was decided that gate number three was suitable for a shootout, as foreigners were found frequenting the place wearing mini skirts/short clothes.
The 2010 Jama Masjid attack occurred on 19 September 2010 when two gunmen on a motorcycle fired at a tourist bus near Gate 3 of the Jama Masjid in Old Delhi and injured two Taiwanese tourists.
