New Delhi, Dec 26 : Delhi Police Subhash Chand Tomar, 47, was cremated with full state honours at Delhi's Nigambodh Ghat this evening in the presence of Home Secretary R K Singh, minister of state for Home R P N Singh, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit and Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar.




Hundreds of policemen in uniform including senior Delhi Police officials saluted as the mortal remains were kept on the funeral pyre.

“Subhash Chand Amar Rahe”, “Jab tak suraj chand rahega, Subhash Chand tera naam rahega” were the slogans raised by Delhi policemen.

Subhash Chand was viciously attacked during protests at India Gate on Sunday. He was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, in a critical condition, where he breathed his last at 6:40 am this morning after battling with life.
