New Delhi: December is a month traditionally known for its chilly winters. However, the average temperature recorded so far this December is actually close to the normal for summer months.

In fact, this December is the warmest month for the corresponding period in the last four years. According to weathermen, this rise in temperature is a result of wind patterns.

Warm winds from the central region are continuously sweeping most parts of northern India, leading to the rise in the temperature clearly felt in the national capital and other parts of the region.

As per the predictions of the meteorological department, Delhi is likely to witness a cloudy Wednesday with the maximum temperature going up to 23° Celsius and the minimum at 10° C.

The Met department further said that December 29 was the hottest day of this month so far. While the maximum temperature settled at 24.1° Celsius, four notches above normal, the minimum was 10.6° C.

Between December 30 and January 4, the Met department has forecast clear weather in the national capital.

According to Skymet Weather Services, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in December 2015 is much higher than the temperature recorded during December in the last four years.
