Kangra - 1905
It was the same month of April in the year 1905, when Kangra situated in Himachal Pradesh also faced the similar earthquake measuring 7.8 magnitude. Most of the buildings in the towns of Kangra, Mcleodganj and Dharamshala were also destroyed by the earthquake. As many as 100,000 buildings were demolished, even 20,000 people were killed and 53, 000 domestic animals were also lost.
Bihar-Nepal - 1934
On January 15 1934, Bihar and Nepal faced one of the most destructive earthquakes in the history. Munger, Kathmandu and Muzaffarpur were completely destroyed in the earthquake measuring 8.0 magnitude. The total number of deaths reported in Bihar was 7253 and over 12000 deaths in Nepal were reported.
Assam -Tibet - 1950
On August 15, 1950, Assam-Tibet faced an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.6. The epicentre was located near Rima, Tibet. Between 1500 to 3300 people were killed between Assam and Tibet. Reportedly, it was the 10th largest earthquakes of the 20th century.
