Dadri (UP): The Gautam Budh Nagar district administration today extended financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the brothers of Mohammed Iqlakh, who was lynched by a mob in Dadri over allegations of consuming beef.
The same amount was also given to Rahul Yadav, a 20-year-old youth, who suffered bullet inujuries during protests by residents of Bishada in the aftermath of the lynching, DM N P Singh said.
Sub-divisional magistrate Rajesh Kumar Singh, flanked by Bishada village head Sanjeev Rana handed over the cheques to Ikhlaq's brothers Jaan Mohammed, Jamil and Afzal.

The cheques were handed over at the NTPC guest house where the district administration has put up a transit camp following the killing of Iqlakh.
50-year-old Iqlakh was beaten to death and his 22-year-old son Danish was critically injured by a mob which barged into their house on the night of September 28 following rumours that the family had consumed beef.
