Hyderabad: The striking employees of Andhra Pradesh government returned to work after a severe cyclone threatened the coastal districts of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam,Khamman, East and West Godavari districts.
The employees returned to work on Wednesday night heeding to an appeal by the chief minister. The employees had gone on strike to protest creation of a separate state of Telangana.
Meanwhile, nearly 50,000 power employees who had struck work for the last six days today decided to call off a strike after an appeal from AP chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
The strike had crippled power generation in coastal Andhra and neighbouring states.
