New Delhi: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed 14 rescue and relief teams with boats and other flood rescue equipment as proactive measure to mitigate the situation during cyclonic storm Nilofar which is expected to hit the Gujarat coast on Friday.
The teams comprising more than 550 rescuers hve been deployed at Somnath, Gandhidam, Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagarh, Veeraval, Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Kutch and Bhuj, an official release said here today.
In addition to that, two more teams have been deployed in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
DIG, NDRF Randeep Rana is being sent to coordinate the NDRF operations with the state authorities at Gandhinagar.
