During the Delhi assembly polls, Arvind Kejriwal had vowed to reopen corruption cases from the 2010 Commonwealth Games held during the Congress regime.
CBI had lodged 19 FIRs in the scam case, only to go on to close eight of those cases. Of the remaining 11, four are said to be on the verge of closure with the cases believed too weak to be probed further.
The games were held in 2010, when the Congress was in power in Delhi, by an organising committee headed by Congress MP Suresh Kalmadi.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government had also written to President Pranab Mukherjee seeking action against former chief minister Sheila Dikshit for allegedly trying to gain political mileage by granting regularisation certificates to unauthorised colonies in the Capital.
