Srinagar: An indefinite curfew was Thursday imposed in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian town following protests after a man was killed allegedly in firing by the paramilitary CRPF Wednesday. The CRPF has denied any firing by its personnel.

Residents said Muhammad Rafi Rather, a 28-year-old bus driver, was killed by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel posted at Gagaran camp, 54 km from here.

The incident took place near Shopian town without any provocation as the man was passing by the camp, they said.
