New Delhi: A Delhi court today remanded to 14 days in judicial custody three persons arrested in a road rage case in which a 38-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by a group of men after his motorcycle had grazed their car here on Sunday.

The police produced 26-year old Atif Malik, Shadab (24) and Saleemuddin (24) before a metropolitan magistrate who sent them to judicial custody till April 22.

Meanwhile, the police moved an application in the court for Test Identification Parade (TIP) of the arrested accused who were brought to the court with their faces covered, The court referred the matter of plea for TIP to another court where Metropolitan Magistrate Rakesh Kumar allowed it and said that TIP proceedings will be conducted in the jail on April 15.

Another accused Waseem, 24, was produced before the court earlier and was sent to judicial custody.

Ameen Pehelwan, a property dealer who was said to be the main accused in the case, was arrested today and would be produced in the court later.

According to the police, 38-year-old Shahnawaz, a scrap dealer, was beaten to death by a group of five men after his motorbike grazed a car near Turkman Gate in Daryaganj on the night of April 5.

The incident took place when Shahnawaz was returning home on his motorcycle along with his two children. As they reached Turkman gate, the motorcycle hit the accused's car, police said.

An argument broke out between the car occupants and the motorcyclist, which soon turned ugly with Shahnawaz being beaten up badly. He was then taken to a hospital where he was declared ‘brought dead' by the doctors, police said.

The incident had led to large-scale protest in the area with people blocking traffic for a few hours on the busy roads there.
