New Delhi: A constable of the Delhi Excise Department died while another was injured when five men attacked them here on the midnight of Friday and Saturday.
Constable Vinod succumbed to his injuries at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Saturday afternoon while Sukhvinder is recuperating.
According to the police, the constables were trailing the liquor mafia in a car. When they reached the forest of Ghitorni in south Delhi, a group of men attacked them with sticks and stones.
After the brutal attack, the liquor mafia men fled from the scene. Sukhvinder then managed to inform the police and both the constables were rushed to the hospital.
Police have arrested one Pawan while four of his accomplices are on the run.
