Hyderabad : Congress leaders from Telangana region organised a public meeting in Adilabad district yesterday to thank Congress President Sonia Gandhi for accepting Telangana's demand for separate statehood.
The meeting is part of a series of public meetings being organised by Congress leaders from Telangana to thank the Congress leadership and gear up for the coming general elections.
Speaking at the meeting, Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy said that the decision to form a separate Telangana state is a courageous one, as it came in the face of stiff resistance from leaders from Seemandhra and others.
Several state ministers, MPs, MLAs and other leaders attended the meeting.
