Srinagar: Cold conditions tightened its grip on Jammu and Kashmir as the night temperature further fell in most parts of the state with the mercury in Srinagar settling more than three degrees below the normal.
Srinagar, the summer capital of the state, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.0 degrees Celsius as against the previous night's minus 1.6 degrees Celsius, a MeT Department official said here.
He said the night temperature in the city was over three degrees below the normal for this time of the season.
Leh, in Ladakh region, continues to be the coldest place in the state as the town recorded a low of minus 10.2 degrees Celsius, as compared to yesterday's minus 10.8 degrees Celsius, the official said.
