Kolkata: The CID today took up the case of the killing of the CEO of a jute mill at Bhadreswar in Hooghly district, an official said.
“Yes we have taken up the case... We haven't made any new arrests as of now... We are investigating into the matter,” CID (operations) Dilip Adak told PTI.
Eight workers of the Northbrook Jute Mill have been arrested in connection with the lynching of CEO H K Maheswari (60) inside the jute mill premises on June 15.
Maheswari was attacked by agitated factory workers when the management did not agree to their demands to increase working hours for an enhanced pay. He died later.
