Srinagar, Apr 26: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said the Chinese incursion in Ladakh region should not be linked with tourism in Leh as the Chinese troops were very far from the town.

“Can we please not link the Chinese incursion to Tourism in the region. The Chinese troops are too far to bother any tourists coming to Leh,” Omar wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.com.

Omar said referring to the Chinese incursion and tourists together created doubts in the minds of potential tourists intending to visit Ladakh.

“When we use the words ‘Chinese troops' and ‘tourists' in the same sentence, we create doubts where none existed,” he added.

Leh and Kargil districts of the state have been favourite visiting places for foreign tourists as Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Disturbed Areas Act are not in force in these areas.
