New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had raised ‘very aggressively' the issue of Chinese incursions in Ladakh region with the visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The issue was firstly figured during the informal discussion between the two leaders in Ahmedabad on the very first day of Xi's three-day visit to India which began from Ahmedabad. The ‘sensitive' issue was once again raised by the Indian Prime Minister ‘very openly' in New Delhi during the talks on Thursday.

Modi had told bluntly Xi that ‘small incidents can ‘ultimately' impact relationship'.

"Yeh chhoti chhoti ghatnayen bade se bade sambandhon ko prabhavit kar deti hain. Agar daant ka dard ho to saara sharir kaam nahin karta hai. (Even such small incidents can impact the biggest of relationships just as a little toothache can paralyze the entire body)," Modi had said.

The warning came after the Chinese troops entered into the Chumar sector of eastern Ladakh even 24 hours after Xi said that People's Liberation Army (PLA) had been asked to withdraw.

Chumar, the last village in Ladakh area bordering Himachal Pradesh, has been a bone of contention with China claiming it to be its own territory and has been frequenting the area with helicopter incursions almost every year.

Chumar had become a flash point during the fortnight long standoff last year in Daulat Beg Oldie as the Chinese side had objected to overhead bunkers erected by the Indian side.
