New Delhi: It was a chilly Christmas morning here Thursday and the dense fog delayed at least 36 trains, an official said.
Met officials said the visibility at 8.30 a.m. was 100 meters.
An official of the Northern Railway said at least 36 trains were running late.

The minimum temperature was 5 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average.
Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 91 percent.
"There was a dense fog in the morning, but the day will be mainly clear," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
The day's maximum temperature is likely to hover around 16 degrees Celsius.
Wednesday's minimum temperature settled at 5 degrees, three notches below the season's average, while the maximum was 15.9 degrees Celsius, six notches below the season's average.
