Raipur, June 19: The scheduled Pre-Medical Test (PMT) for admissions to medical colleges in Chhattisgarh was cancelled today after police arrested 12 youths for leaking the entrance exam's question paper.
The new dates for the entrance test would be announced soon, authorities said.
The arrested include some students of dental and medical colleges, a senior police official said.
Additional SP (Raipur) Lal Umed Singh said that police raided a house in Takhatpur village in Bilaspur district and found that some 80 PMT aspirants were being tutored on the basis of the leaked paper.
Police suspects that one Santosh alias Sanjay is the kingpin of the inter-state racket, which leaked the paper.
Interestingly, the PMT was earlier scheduled for May 11 but was deferred because some questions already asked in the Uttar Pradesh Pre-Medical Test had been mistakenly incorporated in the paper. Some 20,000 students have registered for the exam. PTI
